Tota Match is a Dutch job-matching platform that connects people and companies by what makes them happy at work. A team of two of our developers built the whole product almost from scratch: an AI onboarding chat, matching that explains itself, vacancies from a single sentence and a candidate deck for companies.
Instead of a form, Joeni, the AI host, builds the profile in a short chat. A language model turns plain-word answers into structured data, maps job titles onto a standard taxonomy and writes back a summary of what the candidate wants.
Hard filters (commute, salary, work format) combine with scored criteria: job-title similarity across Dutch and English, skills and what makes the person happy at work. Every match shows its reasons, and background workers scan job boards and summarise new vacancies with AI.
A company types who they need or pastes a link. The assistant drafts the vacancy, shows its reasoning and asks only for what is missing. Visitors can publish before registering and practise on AI-generated example candidates.
Companies get a deck of anonymous candidates per vacancy. Each card has an AI summary with strengths in green and gaps in red, plus salary, hours and the success fee: companies pay only when they hire.
When both sides say yes, a real-time chat opens with AI-suggested topics. The pipeline tracks every candidate from “To decide” to “Hired”.
Scouts refer talent through a personal link and earn a fee per hire. Their portal shows vacancies to share, every introduction and the payouts.
A TypeScript monorepo: Next.js and tRPC for both portals, Drizzle on PostgreSQL with pgvector, BullMQ workers for scraping, summarising and matching, a real-time chat service, Better Auth and Railway. Product requirements live in the repository beside the code.
